CIEIRMusic Through The Ages

It never occurred to me until recently that I've been on this bandcamp for 4 years, yet never shown any kind of compilation or anniversary work to show for it. So I'm doing one now. This is an 9 song compilation of selected works from my library of music. Mostly to show how much has changed over the years. These are no specific favourites mainly just each one from a different style I've used over the years. I even remastered my older stuff. Enjoy.

We Are Dark Divide

The following band is the most vile, evil, disgusting group that CIEIRMusic has ever bared witness to. Neither, S.T., Light, Nor Harmony condone the kind of viewpoints and disgusting words these people have to say and the reason why we're even broadcasting it in the name of our studio, is because we want to show the world, just how evil and ugly they are.

This is Dark Divide, their whole thing is to cause as much Evil as they can. Believing that everything human and good is the evil stuff. They encourage every crime known to the human race including, but not limited to:

Robbery
Kidnapping
Murder
Rape
Thievery
Terrorism
Destruction of Public and Private Property
Producing and Selling Dangerous Narcotics.
Inciting Riots.
Taking candies from babies.

Unravelling Sanity

Imagine your brain rather than the traditional sense, it's a ball of string, with the consistency of chewing gum.

Imagine one loose thread came off and the more you pulled it, the rest of your brain slowly unravels with it.

Imagine someone else for fun decides to yank that thing as hard as they can, plunging your mind further into insanity.

This is what this song is all about.

Hope For The Future

Despite all the events going on: Covid 19, Russia v Ukraine and many problems in the world, while bad, pale in comparison to them I suddenly had this weird feeling. Something I've never felt for a long time, but at the same time pray it's not a total waste. The feeling I have is an inhuman sense of hope that no matter what, we as a species, will eventually make it in the end. In a means to capture that feeling and share it with others, I made a song in hopes that my listeners, as well as anyone else, even those I've feuded with personally over the years I share this hope with. That's how inhuman it is.

Drifting On Open Water

You wake up and find yourself floating in a small creek. Your body laying face up and all you can see is the bright blue sky. Despite the depth of the creek, you're body is somehow staying afloat as a light current is causing you to drift down to it. As you drift on down, relaxed and unable to move, you find the creek getting bigger. First becoming a river. Then becoming a lake. Then finally you are out into a vast endless ocean. Nothing but water and sky as far as the eye can see. You won't drown. You won't die. You are simply drifting aimlessly in what seems to be an endless current of water. The occasional wave brushing by you, but not changing your trajectory.

One of the longest songs I ever made. Made solely for the sake of making more relaxation songs. Enjoy.

We're With You

This is a song dedicated to anyone that feels alone in their lives. Whether it's those suffering this pandemic. Those suffering the casualties of the current wars. Or those who just feel depressed in general, with no one to turn to. We're with you.

The First Joint 420

I wanted to wait until I was able to master trippy music before I could make a song that celebrated 420.
So after making some trippy songs in the past, I was ready.
The idea basically is the musical equivalent to feeling high off the first joint one smokes.
The sounds I used in the beginning to end were me smoking and reacting to the whole thing. Enjoy.

Herbert West Re-Animator Audiobook

All credit goes to H.P. Lovecraft.

I decided to attempt to expand my brand by making audio books of public domain works. So I started with one of H.P. Lovecraft's most famous works. Herbert West Re-Animator. By his own admission the novella was 6 part knock off of other works, including but not limited to Mary Shelly's Frankenstein. Something he written in 1921 and published in 1922 in Home Brew Magazine for a quick buck. However, that knock off, became so successful it spawned many adaptations including but not limited to the Stuart Gordon/Bryan Yuzna movie series that put them and their Herbert West, Jeffery Combs on the map.

The story is a darkly comedic horror, about an unnamed Narrator and his misadventures with fellow university student and mad scientist Herbert West. Whom has struggled to find the secret to bringing the dead back to life.

Now since I am narrating from the original book, safe to issue some warnings. While I've only spotted one slur so far in the first chapter, it does indicate Lovecraft's now infamous Racism. I am only reading what is written and despite my insistence that his racism should be put to bed, because he's dead in real life, nothing I say in this story reflects on who I am as a person. Barring that, enjoy the story.

Exploring The Furthest of Regions

 It is 2236.

Congratulations, you have been chosen for the once in a lifetime opportunity. You and a select group of citizens are invited on the trip of a lifetime. Centuries ago, we only landed on the moon. 2 Centuries ago We colonized Mars, then spread out across the solar system. 2 Decades ago, we crossed from one galaxy to another until we explored almost every inch of the inner universe. Now just 5 minutes ago, you are officially invited to participate in the greatest journey of the human race. Going to the edge of the universe. We believe that if we go far enough we could enter an alternate universe. When we say once in a life time we mean it in the most literal. In 2022, even with the world's best spacecrafts, it would take over 73 000 years to travel to the edge of the universe. With our advanced tech and the help of some extra-terrestrials we assmiliated into our overall culture, not only is it reduced to 50 years, but it will be as though you never left. We have onboard hypersleep pods that make travelling seem like a dream. We have plenty of food and oxygen for our crew and passengers to last them multiple lifetimes. To top it off, we have enough spacesuits. Just in case you're all itching for some good old fashioned spacewalks. This trip could change your life forever.

2286.

The following recording was recovered in space by a back up crew:

"It has been 50 years and we still didn't see jack shit. Food supply is at an all time low, due to most of us finding a way to turn some of it into narcotics. Sue us, we got so bored we literally got stoned. All I see out there are stars and the occasional planets, satellites and planetoids. I don't care if it takes the whole century I want to go ho- Wait a minute/ What is that? It seems there is some kind of strange beams of light in front of us. They appear to be glowing intensely. With colours like I've never seen before. It's so beautiful. Could this be it? Have we reached the edg- Wait what's that? WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT!!!? No. NOOOOOOO!!!! THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING!!! THIS CAN'T BE FUCKING HAPPENING!!! OH GOD!!! OH GOD, JESUS, MARY AND JOSEPH!!! We're gonna die. WE ARE GONNA FUCKING DIE!! The lord is my shep---"

The transmission has been cut off, the ship, it's crew and it's passengers are still missing to this day.

From Beyond Audiobook

I decided to do another Lovecraft Audiobook. This time it's not only one recording, but one story. A short story of terror in which inspired another Stuart Gordon/Bryan Yuzna Lovecraft favourite of mine, From Beyond.

S.T. once again narrates as an unnamed narrator. A friend and former colleague of the fanatic Crawford Tillinghast. Who has invented a machine that stimulates the pineal gland allowing those exposed to it to see a world beyond the usual five senses. However sinister intentions are afoot.

Lovecraft Noir: The Next Chapter

What was initially a stand alone series, I decided to continue to expand on it. This is the next chapter of my audio drama to know the beginning listen to this as there will be spoilers here:
shanethemusician.bandcamp.com/album/lovecraft-noir-the-complete-series

The story centres around two central characters. An unnamed Detective who is well experienced in Eldritch affairs and an Outer God named Eldra whom after eating a unique soul has decided to turn over a new leaf and use her abilities to benefit Earth rather than destroy it. However the Old Ones are not pleased, so they send an outer to stop her.

H.P. Lovecraft's The Outsider

Thought I'd do a third story by good old H.P. This one was made in 1922 and published originally in Weird Tales in 1926. It later became one of two Lovecraft stories to inspire the Full Moon Produced, Stuart Gordon Directed, Jeffery Combs and Barbara Crampton starring horror classic, Castle Freak.

The story itself is about an individual whom for as long as he can remember, has been living in a ruined castle, with nothing but books and the night sky to keep him company. One day, he finds a way out of the castle, seeking life's pleasures. Such as staring at the moonlight. He stumbles upon a nearby village as a party goes on, when he comes across a horrifying ideal that may hold the key to this individual's identity.

Probably one of the saddest stories I've ever read. Enjoy.

Also, I put H.P. Lovecraft's name in the title so no one get confused and think it's the S.E. Hinton classic "The Outsiders".

Lovecraft Noir: The Final Chapter

There it is, the final chapter of my audio series Lovecraft Noir. This chapter ties up all the loose ends the previous chapters loosened, as the Detective and Eldra prepare to place in motion a plan that could either make or break the world.

Incoming!

One of the downsides of making music through making midis is often when you want to do certain things with certain instruments, it's easier said than done. One of my favourite musical cues in any movie soundtrack is the drone effect. In which a string style instrument has a note that is stretched and increased in pitch to highlight the tension of the scene. Whether it's a scary moment in a horror movie or a tense moment in an action scene.

I've been trying to find a way to do droning, that didn't involve using actual instruments and thanks to Audacity's sliding stretch I found it. Using Sytrus' Cello as the base instrument for it, much like the drums I exported it from FL studio as a seperate piece then using Audacity's sliding stretch and timing it just right I did a rough version with this song.

Hope you enjoy and if you do I may just do more droning.

You Are Being Followed

You're travelling down a road. You notice strange sounds similar to footsteps. Not as human as yours, but suddenly getting in sync with yours. Whatever is following you is practically breathing down your neck.

This one took some doing to get the drone right before I made a harmonic of them to add to the dread of the overall song.

It's Coming For You!

After trying two songs with the Sytrus Cello on FL Studio, I decided to do the droning effect with other things. In this case the AlterEgo plugin I use to make Light Harmony and Dark Divide. Nothing fancy, just a bunch of Ohs, Ahs, Oohs and Ehs. But with the harmonization and sliding stretch stuff I used in audacity, it made it sound like a haunting thing.

In this scenario, you're exploring a dark abandoned house. Yet you have this nagging feeling that something is stalking you. Whatever it is, it's coming for you.

Swear Jar 3: Life In Hell

The third instalment of my random comedy series, Swear Jar. Where the first was all about simple jokes and the second was on dark comedy, this one save for an exception goes for more mean spirited and political and celebrity satire.

A Fucked Up Funeral

Funerals can be tragic. The loss of a loved one, the mourning of those remaining. The fact that the world may never be the same without this person.

This funeral is no exception, however in a dark twist, things aren't what they seemed.

A Hero Walks Home Tired and Fighting

A rough experiment I was doing while playing around with audacity. One of the things I like in some soundtracks is when some of the music just fades right in while the percussion builds up. So I tried it on mine. It's a long song, but worth the listen.

In this scenario, you're a Superhero, still uniformed and on their way home after an epic battle. What should have been a lovely stroll from the battlefield to your home is littered with bad guys out to get you. So you can't go straight home lest your secret identity be revealed.

Run For Your Life!

You're walking into a town and all of the sudden a band of crazy motherfuckers starts rolling in and tearing the place up. You can move forward and fight despite the odds against you or you can Run For Your Life and hope they don't notice it. This is the song that plays if you choose the latter. A tense synth heavy epic that personifies the fact that you ran, how far you're going, where you're hiding and whether or not they'll catch you.

The Adventures of S.T. Musican

The in-universe origin of S.T. Musician and CIEIRMusic. Which highlights aspects of S.T.'s life from his humble beginnings to his encounter with Dark Divide to meeting Light Harmony.

Floating on A Cloud Way Up In The Air

I decided to make a short one this time, more or less to see if it works as effectively as the long ones. in this case, you're resting on top of a cloud which is floating up thousands of feet in the air. This should be scary, but you see how peaceful the world above looks. Even with everything going on from wars, to pandemics to poverty seem like nothing to you, because your so high up you can't even see anything save for the Great Wall. If everyone could just find a way to safely get up in the air and really appreciate the beauty of this planet instead of just looking at photos of it on your smartphones, then maybe, just maybe we can stop bitching out each other and make peace.

Just listen and relax.

Draggin' Your Wagon

Sometimes music can be inspired by some of the strangest things. Take for example Ludwig Van Beethoven. Despite being deaf, he's often known for wandering the streets humming to himself and somehow able to translate said hums into sheet music which somehow ends up being accurate to his hums.

In my case, though this song was actually inspired by the most mundane of things: Wagons and Carts. I'm sure all of you had this growing up, but Wagons and Carts have been a small, but signifigant staple of my whole life. As a kid I would either ride a wagon or take a grocery cart home full of groceries back when we were allowed to. As an adult, I use them to either carry things I can't, send empty alcohol cans and bottles back for refund or more alcohol or go grocery shopping/food bank. One of those days, yesterday I was borrowing someone's wagon for it and while walking to the place, I hear this sound that one can only hear when pushing a cart around. The sound of four wheels going across the crack between sidewalks, making a two beat sound with the front and rear wheels respectively. For some reason it got stuck in my head until I translated that sound into a drum beat. Which in turn inspired this song.

For the context of this: You're taking your four wheel wagon home, the opening beats being your wheels, but then you hear clicking sounds of another wagon close behind you. You don't know if the person is following you, wanting to get past you or just happens to be there, but either way, you feel nervousness and tension all over.

Eldra:  A Lovecraft Noir Spin-Off

After making the Lovecraft Noir series, I decided mostly for kicks, to make a spin-off based on one of the characters I created. Eldra. The Outer God turned Lovecraftian Heroine as we take a look at one typical day in her life after the events of Lovecraft Noir. So sit back, relax and join her on this journey.

Call Me Sometime

Much like this song:
shanethemusician.bandcamp.com/album/creeping-march-of-war

This song was stuck in my head for quite sometime. Unlike Creeping March of War, this one is more positive. I wanted to make a song that involved Dial Tones as part of it, but I couldn't find a good synth to do so, so I compensated by trying to make this one sound as endearing as possible. Guitar, drums, bass, with the synth as the lead.

In terms of context the song, itself is all about how something as simple as a phone call, can help you get through the day. Enjoy.

Getting Ready For A Fight

80% Every movie that's ever been made regarding action, genre, horror, war or even coming of age drama films often involve a conflict of sorts. A fight. Whether it's a streetfight between two people or gangs or an outright war between two nations, the hardest part isn't the fight itself, but rather the preparations for it. Psyching yourself up, gathering whatever weapons you need to carry and outright talking yourself into it.

CIEIR vs Dark Divide

Considering their song stolen be the last straw, Dark Divide decides to settle things with CIEIR Music once and for all. Dark and Divide along with their remaining thugs approach CIEIR HQ and Dark, using an RPG, blows off the top of CIEIR HQ. Specifically the Temple. Enraged, S.T. Musician, Light and Harmony step outside and decide to settle things once and for all. Light takes on the Thugs, S.T. Takes on Dark and Harmony takes on Divide in a three way battle. As the battle rages on, Divide snaps and wounds S.T. deciding that if she can't have him, no one can. That's when Harmony gets mad, grabbing Divide and about to maul her. Dark in a moment of distraction tries to stop her, only for S.T. to stab him in the back with his sword. Crippling him, but not killing him. Just when Harmony is about to sink her teeth in Divide's throat, S.T. stops her. After a tense talk, Harmony relents, but not before giving Divide one last good punch in the face.

With the mountain of evidence against them, Dark Divide serves life in prison. Their thugs getting reduced sentences in exchange for their testimony. S.T. and Light Harmony make plans to repair the temple, but in an astonishing surprise, the inhabitants, whom mostly came to pray and interact with each other offer a helping hand, proving S.T. right that humanity is worth protecting and fighting for. CIEIR Music then, prepares for their next adventure.

Adventures In The Weird West

What started as a standalone song tribute to the Weird West Genre, became an album that has become a huge part of the CIEIR Music Lore. A series of songs depicting the titular heroes ancestors on their own adventure in the old west to combat evil.

Haunted Murder 2

With Halloween 30 days away I decided to go back to the past and bring back an old relic.

Years ago, I made an album on Bandcamp called: shanethemusician.bandcamp.com/album/haunted-murder which was my first all horror Royalty Free Album. A means to give potential horror makers music for their works, much like a lot of my songs, I put stories in this one. In this case, it's about a mother and her teenage son, moving into a house haunted by the ghost of a dead prom queen. All the while a killer stalks the place who may be connected to the murder. To test out the tech I used to create Light Harmony's vocals, two of the songs of that album were remade which can be seen in the bonus tracks of that album.

Gravedigger Tip-Toe

  My 300th Song on Newgrounds.

I decided for my 300th song on Newgrounds to cut people a break from my long stuff and give a small sneaky song, about a gravedigger looking for fresh corpses. Over the years I've tried to do a brand of sneaky music. Usually a jazz based tune that's supposed to emphasize the sneakiness of a character. It's commonly used in old Mystery Shows and movies as well as some kid friendly horror stuff like Scooby-Doo. Yet every time I tried to get a rhythm together for it it ends up devolving into a dark and dreadful song. This one no different, but with the right instruments, I think I managed to convey the sneakiness, of the gravedigger.

Vampires, Werewolves and Ghouls OH SHIT!!

You're walking down a dark forest and suddenly out of nowhere, Sinister Vampires, Feral Werewolves and slow, but shambling ghouls come out of all corners to get you. What do you do? RUN!!!

One Halloween Night

Need something special this Halloween or the next? A song to play in your haunted house while your neighbours beg for tricks and treats. Look no further than this organ fuelled horror tune.

Perfect for your haunted house needs.

Silver Boom Werewolf

Partially inspired by Stephen King's Cycle of the Werewolf aka Silver Bullet. About a wheelchair bound kid, whom discovers one of his fellow townspeople may be a Werewolf killing his friends and neighbours.

In the case of this album, it takes place in Colorado during the Silver Boom in the late 1870s. However despite business raking in the dough, mining gets shut down, due to attacks on the miners. The attacks lead people to believe that a wild animal is on the loose, but due to the accuracy of the wounds and the position of the bodies, they have reason to believe it's an animal with the mind of a man.

Chill of The Knife

I decided to do another relaxation song. Only this one has a bit of a twist. Normally relaxation songs are often about bright and upbeat things no matter what chill or lo-fi music is put in the background. This one I wanted to do something with a little more darkness in it.

Not the darkness you're used to listening in my other songs, but rather the beauty of darkness. You'll see what I mean when you hear it. However, with this I can finally explain, why I find darkness itself to be beautiful.

For context, you're walking down a street in a major city at night. All around you is a dark sky as far as the eye can see, but the city itself is vibrant and full of life, that you can't help but enjoy the moment of it.

Without a doubt, this is probably the most beautiful song I have ever created so far. Upon listening to the finished work, tears began to flood my eyes. That beautiful.

Lovecraft Noir 0

The long completed prequel to my Lovecraft Noir series. This expands on the lore a little. I wanted to see how people would react to the characters I established, knowing what they did in the past. As well as give the origin to my favourite character of the series. Eldra.

CIEIR vs Dark Divide Alternate Ending

Much like how DC has Elseworlds and Marvel has "What If?" I myself decided through music to do a scenario of what would happen if things went differently.

In this scenario, S.T. Musician is Dead, Light Harmony is Dead and Dark Divide wins. Effectively destroying CIEIRMusic. The music itself depicts a montage of these unhinged monsters staking their claim on different parts of the world while a darker twisted version of this plays:

The Legend of Krampus

For this Christmas I thought of doing one thing since I already done remakes of old Carols as well as my own unique album in the past. For this year I decided to do something that was the total opposite of this:

So I thought, why not do a legend song on the Krampus and have Light Harmony sing that.

For those who don't know. Krampus is a mythical figure that is basically what would happen to kids on the Naughty List on Christmas. Where Santa would give good gifts to good children, Krampus would snatch them away for eternal punishment. However I refuse to believe Santa would go so far as sic Krampus on kids whether they're naughty or not. So in this scenario, I decided to have this be the origin of their Archrivalry. Santa used to be OK with what the Krampus was doing until he saw what the Krampus was actually doing.

Terror From Beyond Worlds

Initially this started out as a new spin on an old idea:
shanethemusician.bandcamp.com/track/octave-of-suspense

But it turned into my attempt at making a lot of mind fuck music. Enjoy
